  • Superficial wounds & burns
  • Deep wounds
  • Sinus wounds
  • Necrotic wounds
  • Infected wounds
  • Surgical wounds

Serious wounds should be managed under the supervision of a health care professional

Wound care advantages :

  • Provides an antibacterial barrier;
  • Effective against more than 200 clinical strains including MRSA, MSSA, VRE, etc…
  • Provides a moist wound environment;
  • Fast, effective autolytic debriding action for the removal of slough and necrotic issue in an antibacterial environment;
  • Rapidly removes malodour;
  • Reduces the risk of infection;
  • Non adherent thus reduces trauma and pain during dressing changes;
  • Natural product.

Directions for use:

Medihoney Antibacterial Medical Honey™ should be applied liberally to prevent the wound fluid from excessively diluting the antibacterial effects of the product. It can be applied either directly to the wound or into a gauze dressing. A non-adherent gauze should be applied to cover the Medihoney Antibacterial Medical Honey™ with additional secondary dressings applied as required, dependent on wound fluid levels. The frequency of dressing changes will depend on how rapidly Medihoney Antibacterial Medical Honey™ is being diluted by fluids. Daily dressing changes are usual during the initial stages of wound healing. As fluid levels decrease fewer dressing changes are required and can be left up to 3 days. Medihoney Antibacterial Medical Honey™ can be removed from the wound by rinsing with saline or tap water at dressing change.
